I believe the TDG will first take hold in the USA. The Americans have their myth that they invented the first workable democracy (not quite true). If they believe they did it then, then they can do it again. Also American democracy has fallen ("collapsing" as you say) a lot in the last decade. They have more incentive to change things than Canadians.
