I'm from Canada. While we still have our antiquated Westiminster system of governance (many similarites to the USA), we behave more like the social democracies of Europe. I'm not fully understanding why.
We Canadians didn't tinker much with the British model when we got in 1867. And we have a hard time in changing it.
The Americans did tinker with the British model. For that, there is a belief that Americans created something from nothing in 1776 and 1792, which is not exactly true.
Because of that history, I believe Americans are more ready to make the change to the TDG than other democracies. Add in the fact that American democracy seems to have fallen the most, some people should realize that things could change 250 years, maybe they could change again.
