I'm having a hard time with this "disastrous midterm elections." The Republican were not annihilated in any way. True it is that they ended on the wrong side of a few too many 50/50 contests. But they should be congratulated that they kept themselves in the race with controversial candidates.

I also notice that the right-wing fringe seems to be holding the balance of power. They are the ones preventing the McCarthy coronation.

Trump may be losing influence, but Trump 2.0 is smarter.

There should be no dancing in the street with this political impasse.
