I’m not a fan for direct democracy. It’s not hard to imagine the people voting for lower taxes, yet voting for more funds for schools and hospitals. Government by referendum is not “balanced.”

But any article that intelligently challenges the status quo is all good in my books. Hopefully, one day we will have the discussion we need to have about an alternative system of governance.

My take is that we need to get rid of the political parties to make effective “representative” decisions.
