I'm not following the early logic of this article. And it looks like news cycle has Mr. Trump wanting to fill this seat ASAP. From what I understand, a R stooge could be set up within a month as a supreme court justice. The R's probably see the need as they anticipated a close election that will need a decision from the Court.
When the constitution was written, it was assumed that the decision makers would be non-partisan. In other words, decisions makers would be applying their own knowledge, wisdom, and experience to whatever decision they faced.
All this was lost when partisan politics took over. The needs of the party are more important than the needs of society. So decision makers no longer need much knowledge, wisdom, and experience.
It's time for a new way.
