I'm really not interested in theological hair splitting. But this particular hair splits has a little story from me.
When I was about 19, I encountered an avid Christian who claimed that the Bible was free of all errors. He said something like, "They put the Bible into a big computer program and it could not find any conflicting facts."
When I read the Bible for myself several years later, the difference in bloodline between Luke and Matthew really stood out for me. I'm not even sure why I picked on that omission. For me, this confirmed the above fellow really didn't know what he was talking about.
