In 1992, a left-leaning friend of mine joined the Alberta Conservative Party. His goal was to vote for the worst candidate in its upcoming leadership race, giving his favorite political party a better chance.

He voted for Ralph Klein. Ralph won the leadership and later the election. He stayed as premier for 14 years. Let's just say he was controversial--and his base loved him for that.

My friend's infiltration plans did not turn out the way he had wanted.

But one has to wonder how much interference from the other side happens in the internal elections of Canada's and USA's political parties. Ms. Elizabeth just might be onto something with Ms. Sinema's endorsements.

It's time to get rid of all political parties.
