In 1998, I acquired some version of chronic fatigue syndrome. I couldn't work for two years. I probably should have stayed not-working for another year, but could not afford it. I found some work I could do, but I was in the working poor class. I was just making basic payments and keeping an old car on the road.
Slowly I got stronger. After eight years, Ifound a job that had some disposible income to it. But going back to what I did before was out of the question.
In 2010, I believe I had mostly recovered from the ailment. But 12 years of aging meant my youthful stamina was not there.
A UBI would have been nice.
