In his book 1984, George Orwell laid out three demographic groups:

1) 2% belong to the Inner Party, who control society and enjoy the good things.

2) 13% belong to the Outer Party, who do the dirty work of the Inner Party. They have a few perks.

3) 85% belong to the Proles, who do the work of society. THey have a subsistence living with little opportunity.

Looking at history, this seems to the natural order of human hierachy. We seem to be going back to this order.
