In his Foundation Series, SF writer Isaac Asimov prophecized that democracy has a shelf life of about two to three centuries. Then it falls on itself, "being sacked by profiteers and con artists" as one of the reasons. It is replaced by a version of oligarchy.

If Mr. Asimov's prophecy is correct, then this American version of democracy is going to fail. I don't think unlecting Mr. Trump is going solve the problem in the long term

If democracy (the ability to elect our own political leaders and hold them accountable) is on an inevitable decline, then it would be better to replace it with a better vesion of democracy, not fight for the current version.

Tiered Democratic Governance is a better version of democracy. Gone are the political parties and noisy elections. In is a culture of cooperation and consultation among the elected leaders. Better solutions and better monitoring of decisions is the result.

TDG is worth "working" for.
