In my engineer studies, I found out there is no free lunch in the world of thermodynamics. Yet the advocates of EV pretend that there is.

Your article raises lots of good points on petroleum economics. I could quibble on some of them, but overall we are heading for a period of big change as the petroleum companies battle with the electricity companies. Both industries will make slight changes as they vie for market share of "energy."

A century ago, cities started banning horses from city streets. Mostly because the auto offered a way out of the horse manure issue. Many "horsemen" were left out of a job. Many suppliers to the horse industry failed. Most citizens had some knowledge of working with horses, but today . . . .

Whether induced by market forces or by government intervention, we are heading for a period of big change.

I have an article in the works about being a petroleum engineer. Maybe I can get some "hateful" Medium readers to take a look at my works.

One point I will bring up is the long-term vision the petroleum industry seems to have. No other political force seems to do this better.

About 15 years ago, the petroleum industry was talking about diversifying from petroleum to other kinds of energy. But today, this industry is clearly not going in that direction, sticking with petroleum. Your article suggests that petroleum may be around a lot longer. And the petro-CEOs already know that.
