In my opinion, the "secret powers" of western societies is the American aristocracy. I have written about them here:

https://medium.com/politically-speaking/the-american-aristocracy-c9c9055c3323

There is nothing too sinister here. This is just a demographic that knows how to flex its political muscle to its advantage.

In the past few years, the demographic that could be labelled as "ultra conservative" has been flexing its own muscle. I will have an article out shortly about this transition.

----------------

I have been reading a new Medium political contributor. He has recently published an article about Serbia gearing up to invade Kosovo again:

https://medium.com/politically-speaking/the-american-aristocracy-c9c9055c3323

Is he right? I don't know. But the story is plausible. Serbia is another nation with a history of dominating other ethnic groups. Like Russia, it too has lost a lot of its original territory. Getting some of that territory back would be good for the Serbian psyche.

Not so good for the Albanians. The world may have too much on its plate to save them this time.

--------------

In the months before COVID, I was spending a fair amount of time at the local swimming pool, trying to stay in shape. This usually ended with a soak in the hot tub. And sometimes, some interesting conversation happened in the hot tub.

One of my hot tub mates was critical of our municipal government. He had many angles covered at how inept our municipal politicians and city employees were at their jobs.

I was tiring of his chronic complaining. So I said, "You have some strong and well-thought out opinions in how our city should be run. You should put your name up in the next municipal election. When you get elected, you can start implementing your ideas."

He kind of shut up after that. I think he knew he was "unelectable."

But that was before COVID. He might stand a chance today.

-----------

While I have strong opinions on many things (like Serbia and Ukraine and NATO), I acknowledge that my perspectives are limited. And they are tainted by the stuff I have chosen to access.

We are all guilty of using misinformation. There are many forces out there trying to write history to their benefit. For example, visiting that museum in Serbia has affected your outlook.

I may be wrong about Serbia and Ukraine and NATO. But there is nothing you have said convinced to change my mind.

So we have an impasse. What to do? What to do?

------------

My remedy is acknowledge that our current political systems are incapable of resolving these conflicts effectively. The western powers have made too many mistakes in shaping the world. If I were in charge, I would be making similar mistakes. I would say the same for you.

I have an alternative democracy I would like to promote.

WHile I use current affairs (and my opinions on these affairs) to generate some discussion, my primary purpose to be an Medium is to promote this new system.

However we resolve these conflicts, they will fall short of what we really to do. The new system will be much better at these tasks.
