In your previous MLM essay, I left my experience in MLM as a comment. I got quite a few claps for that response, a better reaction than my regular articles. And still getting a few claps a week.
Anyways, another fine article on MLM and the American psyche. It's amazing that we celebrate the successes of the early pioneers while totally forgetting that 99 other pioneers failed--often not from their own faults. Even today, the success rate of startup businesses is maybe 20%. Even the best planners and hardest workers can fail.
I think one thing my MLM experience taught me was to be careful where I park my identity. One can look like a fool when that part of the identity fails.
