Indeed, nobody knows where this is all going to go. Those who think they have the right fortune telling skills are mistaken. Those who believe that history was giving us signals--and we did not respond properly--are mistaken.

One thing is clear: Russia's political leader is not sane. Maybe he never was, but he is definitely less sane than he was before.

We can argue that Russia is not a true democracy, so this country just does not have the mechanisms to prevent or oust someone like him from power.

But how much better is USA's democracy in this regard? Canada is showing signs of moving in a similar direction.

I don't know where this is all going. But the signs are all there that our current democratic systems are not working the way we think they should work.

It is time for a new way.
