Indeed "Paul to the Americans" would be a unique piece of satire. I'll have to think.
My understanding is that the early Christian church was a small part of the total population, probably 1% . Paul's letters were directed at these believers whose faith was not that strong--and being pulled from the outside world. That Christianity was slowly gaining.
Today, we see a major religion losing ground rather than gaining. Not quite the same story.
My hypothesis is that ideology and religion are only facades for a few minority demographics to take political control.
