From the comments, it seems some people don't like this idea. Amateur historians like to bring up the appeasemest from Neville Chamberlain, but I don't think he had a lot of choice. Zelenskyy may be put into a similar situation.
My solutions is that no nations should have systems where dysfunctional characters are running the show.

Given your experience in the area, what is your take on the Russian speakers in Ukraine? When I was there in 2006, they were agitating for a return to Russia. But it seems many of them would prefer now to stay in Ukraine.
Is a forced relocation a possiblity in Crimea and the Donbas if this war continues?
