Interesting story.
In 2000, I self-published my first version of my alternative system of governance. It didn’t go very far: many unsold copies eventually went to the recycling depot.
But the book did land me an internship at a rural newspaper as a social/political columnist. All I can say is that framing complex social/political issues in 600 words really improved my writing. And these skills became part of the second, third, and fourth versions. I can safely say that my writing has improved with time.
I acknowledge that further improvements are likely. But, on the other hand, my writing skills are already strong enough to communicate to the world my concept of a new kind of democracy.
Unfortunately, I don’t think the world wants to hear that western democracy needs to replaced by something totally new.
