Is this article not too sensationalist?

It seems to me that American democracy quickly rose up against the detention centers. The administration quickly backed down. Democracy seems to be working, even though the people really caught in the middle went and are probably still going through a lot of trauma. The damage was contained.

Umair’s article seems to imply that the damage was not contained. But he provides no evidence. So I have come to the conclusion of sensationalism, which is part of the problem of why we are where we are. Just because the sensationalism comes from the moral superiors does not make it right.

If we are to solve America’s immigration problem, USA needs to:

  1. stop making it so easy for illegal immigrants to find under-the-table work for decades

2. stop propping up regimes that almost force honest citizens to immigrate to somewhere where they can find under-the-table work.

If the American system cannot figure this out, then the system is at fault (not Mr. Trump). I have an idea on how to change things. But I’m sure Umair’s fans prefer his sensationalist angles than effective change.
