Isaac Asimov prophesized that democracy is "not forever" in the the 1950s with his Foundation Trilogy.

He was able to see how democracies fall in on themselves--and are replaced by oligarchies. And those oligarchies are replaced by other oligarchies.

If we want to break this prophecy, we need to stop hoping and wishing the current democracies will fix themselves--and build a better democracy.
