It is indeed bizarre. The issue the D’s are choosing to base their impeachment (or maybe not) is one of many things. Why this one?

But the political reality is that 40% of Americans like Mr. Trump. Impeachment could solidify this support for November 2020. Impeachment could backfire politically.

Best to wait until support reaches 25%. Then some of the R’s will come out from the shadows. Or wait until the next election — and focus on the 50% of Americans who normally don’t vote. That is where the real power is!
