If prostitution were a free market, legalizing it might make some sense. However-even where it is legalized--the pimp-prostitute relationship still exists. The pimps have put these women into psychological slavery: the women find it difficult to leave, do not reap the rewards, and are cast aside when they are no longer attractive. There are very few women who leave this profession at the age of 30 with a nice bank account.

As for the johns, their moments of pleasure come at the expense of someone else being in psychological slavery. If they really undersand this--and cared, they would not take on this recreation.
