It's been an interesting journey reading you and a few other writers here. I think I'm understanding why some people fight or run from police when an arrest seems imminent. This 62-year old white guy says "Just take the cuffs." But when one believes the system is stacked for an unfavorable result, the fight or flee options have merit.
I have encountered other thinkers who believe the system of governance really doesn't matter that much. We could have a just society with the different versions of democracy or even dictatorships--if only we would change our hearts and minds. I don't agree with this kind of statement. The system is shaping the hearts and minds of more than a few people--often in the wrong way.
How we are governed shapes many individual psyches and value systems. If the USA keeps the same system, I don't expect much progress.
