It's been interesting watching the Medium commentators over the past year. While there has always considerable unity that Mr. Trump should be prosecuted, there was also fear of political violence erupting. I am sensing that many people are now willing to let whatever violence that there is to happen to happen.

Methinks Garland and the DOJ, while building their legal case, were also waiting for the American public to become more fully onside with the prosecution. And probably a little political maneuvering of their own to get the public on this side.

If so, they have exercised great patience and wisdom.
