I'm somewhere on your path. I'm eating less meat. I hope I never have to get on a plane again. I am stingy in my use of my car.

Abandoning plastics is difficult. I believe that plastics can be recycled, but we will have to put research into reworking the different kinds of plastic. Know of any vested interest that would want to stop this research?

Still too many people in my life that make long car trips for silly reasons. They also idle their car in the summer to keep the interior cool; they do the same in the winter to keep the interior warm. They will be the first to complain about the profits of oil companies.

While individuals can make better choices, our government can help them make better choices. But western democracy is not conducive to providing this kind of direction. If anything, it is following public opinion, not leading it. And nefarious forces are creating that public opinion.
