I've been following Marlee for almost a year now. Sometimes I really don't get what she is talking about. Sometimes it makes sense.

Up until about five years ago, I thought western society had more or less conquered its racists and misogynist tendencies. But, over a period over about a year, I then realized that there is still a lot of work to do.

I also look at my own personal transformation from my youth. On one hand, I believe I was a reasonably fair person. But on the other, I did have some racism and misogyny as part of my value system. I have overcome a lot of this, but maybe this is still more to learn.

I have to admit that sometimes I find some advocates quite unreasonable--and I believe that their advocacy hurts the cause more than helps it.

Maybe a better way to explain it is that racism is not just two extremes. There are shades of grey--and if we can move people forward to the better side of that grey, that is a victory.

I really didn't see much "insult" in Mr. Biden's interview. But like any work of communication, different interpretations are always possible.
