I’ve been thinking about this support/oppose issue (as you put it) for a while.

Maybe I should stop watching Netflix because I’m pretty sure some actor/director/camera operator in all Netflix productions has done something wrong in their life that I am opposed to. Maybe even Netflix executives are immoral.

If a film production or sports team delves into the history of all its players and just selects the “pure” ones, is this not a different version of “The Handmaid’s Tale”?
