I've been thinking about your articles. As I have stated before, I gave libertarianism a short stay as my preferred ideology.

One of the big problems with libertarianism is that too many of us cannot or will not comprehend the effects of their actions on others. Let's assume my neighbor lets his dog poop on my lawn. I don't like that.

In a functioning libertarian world , my neighbor and I would have a discussion. He would come to an understanding that I don't want dog poop on my lawn. Problem solved.

In an anarchy (the common definition), I would just shoot my neighbor and his dog. Problem solved.

In a democratic society, we set up laws about dogs pooping on lawns. I call in the bylaw officers, they deal with it. Problem solved, albeit a little more expensive than it should be. If my neighbor does not like that law, he has the freedom to try to change it. If he can't (or won't try), then he has to abide by it.
