I've been thinking more about these two articles.

While my oilpatch days are clearly over, two years ago, I believed I could have handled many jobs for some income, like working retail.

But I have lost a lot of stamina. Even a four-shift sounds too hard.

Not sure why. Maybe some remnants of my chronic fatigue syndrome or stressful family life. Or maybe I am just getting old.

I really didn't want to retire, but it seems I don't have much choice.
