I've often wondered if a UBI payment would somehow mean an increase in rent of the same amount. This kind of defeats the purpose.

Maybe; maybe not. We'll never know for sure until we try.

And that why I believe we need to introduce the UBI slowly. Unfortunately, too many advocates want to go fast.
