I usually do not spend much time with doomposting. I am mostly converted to the climate change cause; there is little need to be reminded. I can only hope that somehow posts like this are going outside this echo chamber.

For some reason, this article showed up on my feed. I felt I needed to click on it. And I found the very astute paragraph above. Any great social movement has been led by a minority of citizens.

I am trying to start a social movement. We need to replace western democracy with a more organic system. Here is my Medium link:

Our inability to properly address climate change is a sign that our current system of governance is not working. It seems to be waiting for 50%+1 of voters to get on board with climate change. Until then, it will only put in a token effort to this cause.

This "kinder, wiser democracy" needs only 1% to start it off. It need not wait for 50%+1. And I estimate that the early builders will only need 10 hours a month to build it. So these builders can still spend time with their other causses.

How we are governed today is a major source of the impotence we see dealing with climate change.

We need to stop believing that we can bend the will of those overly ambitious people who aspire for public office--and put faith in ourselves. We can build this new way.

I realize that you are a busy person and probably won't respond. Hopefully some of your readers will investigate these links.
