Joe. I can’t argue much about your myths. I’m Canadian and my family and social circle have been served quite well by Canada’s health system. Doctors, nurses, and technicians seem to be happy working under it. There are a few abusers, but not too many — and the system often has ways of dealing with them. While there are a few cases of medical treatment not going the way it should go, things do work well.

I would argue with “The Democrats had a landslide in 2018.” Historically, the party opposite the president does a little better in midterm elections, so this change was expected. If Mr. Trump was indeed reprehensible to 10% of the 50% of Americans who normally don’t vote, a few more Senate seats would have flipped. But that didn’t happen. There was no landslide or proof that Trump’s base is eroding.
