If you were a mechanic and I brought my 100-year old Model T Ford and told you to fix it, you would say "It is time to buy a new car."
You would probably add: "And The new cars are much nicer to drive and more reliable."
Your essay is very much like the Model T owner coming into the mechanic's shop. All those things you want done (like putting in air-conditioning into a Model T) ain't gonna get done.
