John: I might have mentioned this already in this thread, but political scientist F. Fukuyama claimed that the Republican Party has become an aberration in western democracy in that it really does not do much for the people who vote for it. And my original article is suggesting that the Democratic Party is becoming the same.

If self-interest is to be the criteria to base a vote, then Americans really have no one to vote for.
