Just a Canadian perspective. So much mail volume has been lost as bills, bill payment, et al are done online. With less volume, it becomes less efficient.

These days, I think my post office deliveries would be sufficient for once a week, not five days a week.

Maybe a buggy whip more than a harbinger. But the social collapse is still on the horizon.
