Just a little anecdotal knowledge on your possible heritage.

Pennsylvania was a magnet for Slovak immigrants. Many worked in the mines, bringing their mining experience from the various mountain ranges in central Slovakia, which was a supplier of hard rock minerals for Europe for several centuries.

Catholiscism was the dominant religion in Slovakia, as in Poland. Not so much in Moravia or Ukraine.

Having said that, there was quite a bit of migration in central Europe. Slovakia was "owned" by the Hungarians, but they were the aristocrats. Germans, Czechs, Croats moved into Slovakia mostly for labor reasons and kept their ethnic communities for a generation or two. And Slovaks also moved out of Slovakia to look for work when their region could not provide a living.

Based on your previous surname "Martinchek', that is a good Slovak surname. But it could also be Czech, Polish, or Ruthenian. It might even be a good Ukrainian name.

Maybe do some research on the Slovak communities in Pennsylvania.

As for the Roe issue, all I can say is that until we come to some societal unity, we need to let people have their freedom in this matter. We should leave the final judgement of abortions to the Higher Power later.

But I am looking beyond our current political conflict. I have seen a lot of Medium articles critical of the Supreme Court, but the current decision is within the rulebook--even though you and I and many other may not like it.

To me, the disunity is just another sign of our crumbling democracy. We really need to build a new way.

S Bohom!
