Kesh: You are bringing up a point that I have made for years. The actual act of protest is a sign that the powerful people in democracy are not listening. When they are forced to listen, we have to wonder whether they are really listening.
We need a new way. This new way should have the decision makers seriously consider the "loser's side" of an issue. And the losing side should recognize that a balance has to be struck and the system has put in competent decision makers. I believe when those two have been attained, the need for protest will not be there.
