My TDG project is now 23 years old. When I first started, I would get a few comments like: “I don’t agree with you, but I will defend your right to say it.”
I’m not hearing much of that free speech mantra any more.
The early TDGers are going to have to take a few steps away from usual politics. They can still watch and vote, but they should not be consumed by the drama (or be part of the drama). Their focus should be building this new way. I estimate it will take about 10 hours a month for an early TDGer to get things started.
At first, the established power brokers will ignore the TDG. But when it gets to a certain size, they will begin to challenge its legitimacy. By then, the TDG should have culture to withstand these challenges, becoming more credible to more people.
I do believe I have the antidote. But it will require many more people than I to administer the medicine.
As for the “barbaric experiment,” I would say it was an important part of our evolution as humanity. My heritage is Eastern European from the peasant classes. I don’t want to go back to my “good old days.” But it is time to discard western democracy — and move on to something better.
