Last week, I bought a bunch of leeks. Probably from Texas. Three leaks for $4.00.

I could only imagine that the worker who pulled these leeks were being paid $10.00 an hour. And he/she will have a bad back by the time they are 50 years old.

My father experienced a fair amount of prejudice growing up. He and the other "bohunks" had to stick together in school. But he adopted the Canadian ways and was generally accepted as a young adult. Being white and nominally Christian helps the integration.
