There really is not much to add to my technical writing story. The "job" at the recycling center was probably my last official work in this field.
I do have some downtime with my current employer and I use that time to write a comprehensive "science for the trades" program. I taught such a course about five times, and the course material I had to use (different each time) was not very good. So I thought my employer could sell a quality course to other colleges. However, management was not interested. But they are paying me a wage to sit at a desk. When I have free time, I develop this course. Maybe in a year, I will have something to show them. I have been using skills developed in my technical writing days for this course. The interesting challenge is to dumb my natural writing style down to a Grade 10 level.
About a year ago, I forayed into fictional writing. I wrote a novel about Americans building a future version of democracy.
