Then what I don't understand why political readers on Medium are not recognizing this system is broken? If they do recognize the broken system, then why are they not investigating alternative versions of democracy?

From what I can glean, the correct solution for Medium political seems to be unelecting Mr. Trump. If the system elected Mr. Trump in 2016, could it not elect someone like Mr. Trump in the future?

I have said in the past that Mr. Trump is not smart enough to pull off a coup. The scary part of this article is that maybe he does have some of those smarts. He is giving more lessons to the next populist leader than I thought he would.
