Many businesspeople have a five-year window to bring in a lot of profit. The business formula that helped them bring in that profit may not work five years later. If they are astute, they will recognize the golden time they are living in. Some will adjust to the new business climate; others will put their profits back into a sinking business.
Likewise, the executive class should assume that their current high salary may last only a few years.
In the blue-collar world, the best time to earn money is when one is young. After 40, the physical stamina is not there. Time to take an easier--and lower paying--job.
