Many preachers seem to think forgiveness is easy. Their shallow interpretation has led people in a wrong way. My experience is that forgiveness is not easy, and one must go through life lessons to become prepared for forgiveness. It doesn’t make sense come out of church Sunday morning in a totally forgiving state just because a preacher said so.

It’s not hard to see that this harmful state of forgiveness on an individual basis probably applies to forgiveness on a societal basis. Your article is great food for thought.
