Thanks for your thoughtful response. I think you know I have a possible solution for all this.
I've been on Medium for almost two years. More than a few times, I have commented thusly: "Someone like Donald Trump would not rise very high in Tiered Democratic Governance." You would think with all the anti-Trumpers around here, there would have been a few serious investigations of my ideas by now.
Many of the political/social articles on Medium have the intent of bending the will of those who aspire for public office. This is their participation in democracy. And, to me, it is participation at a shallow level. Very few people seem to recognize the difficulties of public decision makers, trying to find a balance while maintaining some principles while being attacked by several sides in a confrontational system.
Building the TDG would be an excellent forum where we could learn to work together. We will be doing and learning, not talking and wishing (and writing Medium political articles). All races. All economic classes. All personalities. Most philosophies. Most religions.
But if people just sit in our cultural echo chambers and order politicians around, I can only wish those people lots of luck to better the world for they will need that luck.
By the end of February, I will have my second TDG novel up on Medium. One advantage of Medium is that I can post my work somewhere other than my website. And Medium articles do seem to stick around. Maybe these Medium excerpts of my novel might find a lucky break a few years from now.
When this novel is fully published on Medium, I will be moving on to another life project. Tiered Democratic Governance will be put on the shelf--for the fifth time in 24 years.
It's a strange world.
