Mastodon is "a-flutter" with the Colorado decision.

It's one thing to have laws; it's another to enforce them. It's taken three years for DOJ to bring various charges related to the insurrection to the courtroom. One reason of the delay is to build an almost air-tight case lest the forces supporting the former president will use an acquittal as an excuse that the whole process is a witchhunt. They still may think so with a solid conviction, but a lot of wind will be taken out of their sails.

As you know I am promoting an alternative democracy. It will easily solve this problem in two ways:

1) People like Mr. Trump will not rise too high.

2) The annual elections will "impeach" representatives who cross a few too many improprieties. No trial or drama is needed.
