In the summer of 2015, Canadian prime minister called a federal election. His Conservative party was high in the polls. Pundits were predicting a Conservative majority.

Something happened. The Conservatives went from 159 to 99 seats. The Liberals had the majority.

The something amazing happened. Mr. Harper took to the stage. He apologized to his party and resigned his leadership position. Within a week, the Liberals were running the show.

Throughout much of history, rulers held on power for as long as they could hold on that power. Revolutions and assissinations were the usual ways to depose a ruler who was no longer effective.

Somehow, those of us in western democracies had to be trained to think differently. Mr. Harper showed that he had these advanced attributes. He let the ballot box speak.

The TDG will have to bring higher level attributes to make the TDG work. My TDG book explains these attributes in more detail.

We can either work towards these attributes or just revert back to our human nature. The Republican Party seems willing to revert to a one-party state. That is the natural condition, right?
