My experience with LinkedIn is that it is useless for finding freelance writing positions.

One of the "better" interviews I got was a recruiting company that needed to get my "writing score." If my score was high enough, they would put me on their list. To get the score, I had to buy a $500 course.

Also I few companies that were a little vague about what they could do for. But they sure wanted a lot of personal information to get started.
