My hypothesis is that he had no master plan. He just threw himself out there in a way he likes to throw himself out there — and it worked in 2016. And here we are.
He certainly has lots of critics. I have been trying to challenge people not to criticize Mr. Trump, but the system that gave him his political power. It is time for a new way.
