My knowledge of the IMF is that it would not be putting out such information to belittle the petroleum industry. I have to wonder whether that IMF statement itself is true.

And it seems like cheap economics to label tax & royalty breaks and economics as "subsidies," even if the industry has the political influence to make them happen.
