My maternal grandfather left Ukraine. He had no intention of returning, as he had a say in his new country. He worked for 30 years in the CPR, repairing railroad track.

He did marry a Ukrainian women (five girls). But she pined for the "old country."

I visited their home village in Bukovina. I brought back some soil for their Canadian graves.
