My political crystal said that if Russia had run over Ukraine in early 2022, other East Europeans would have gone the same way. NATO would not have protected these "small countries." The Russian psyche is to dominate other ethnic groups.

The ineptness of the Russian military and resolve of the Ukrainians surprised most of us (myself included).

I think Neville Chamberlain has been misaligned in history. He really had no choice but to allow Germany to annex Czechoslovakia. If nothing else, the Munich agreement bought some extra time for Britain and France to beef up armed forces. Not enough time, but the fact that Britain and France drastically increased military spending suggests they knew their near future before it happened.

In this current war, the west does have the resources readily available to help Ukraine.
